Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler Night Cream ~ Review ~

Sometimes you just want a standard cream, nothing too fancy but delivers what it’s supposed to. Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler Night Cream is such kind of product for me. It keeps my skin away from being dried and flaky through two Swedish winters. When researching for this post, I found that Sali Hughes also mentioned this cream in her column, which says something about this product.

It’s not easy to find affordable hyaluronic acid products that give moisturizing feeling in the Western market. This is one of Eucerin’s anti-aging range. The night cream is formulated for all skin types, while the day cream has different formula for oily skin and dry skin. The day cream version contains mica which I guess to create brightening effects and SPF 15. For me, I want my daytime moisturizer to have no cosmetic effects since I will be layering it with sunscreen and foundation anyway. Since I feel the night cream isn’t greasy and doesn’t clog my pores, I’ve been using it as a day cream as well.

It is formulated with two types of hyaluronic acid; each works on a different level of the skin. It also has an ingredient called Glycine-Saponin that claims to help the skin to produce hyaluronic acid by itself. It contains mild perfume, which I feel useless because it’s not a particularly pretty scent (though it doesn’t smell bad by any means). This tub doesn’t mention parabens in the ingredients list, but my previous tub and some websites did mention it.

The consistency is a little bit siliconey and absorbs quickly. I massage it into my skin around three to four times. Then I use my palms to gently press the product into my skin until I feel it becomes a little bit sticky. After each application, my skin feels refreshed and hydrated and lines instantly become less visible. But after about four hours the effects start to wear off and my lines become more visible again. However, comparing to other affordable products aimed for dry skin I could find in Sweden, this night cream provides longer hydration and moisture.

Final Thoughts

This is my second tub and I will come back to it whenever I can’t decide which cream to try. It is affordable and more effective than other similar products in the same price range.
