Shiseido Sunscreen and Concentrate ~ Mini Haul and First Impression ~

Hello everyone! Nothing exciting happened much last week except for my cheeky little online purchase. As I mentioned in my previous blog, I needed a new sunscreen. With Facebook’s magical algorithm, I got an advertisement saying that Shiseido products were on sale on Central Online Shopping, thus spending ensued.

If anyone asked me what they should get from Shiseido, I’d say try their sunscreens. This time I picked the Shiseido Perfect UV Protector SPF 50+ PA++++ WetForce. It came with a 10ml sized of the Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate when ordering through Central. The discounted price of the sunscreen makes it become only a little bit more expensive than other higher quality Japanese drugstore sunscreens such as Shiseido Anessa or Kanebo Allie. Also, you get more value out of this comparing to the Lancome Asia-exclusive sunscreen based on the price and the amount you get.

The texture of this sunscreen is hands down the BEST I’ve ever tried. It is a runny consistency that feels velvety and instantly melts into my skin. There’s no white residue on my face, in fact, I feel like there’s nothing on my skin after applying it.

Formula-wise, it is obvious that Shiseido is not a natural/organic brand so it does contains “nasty” ingredients, but you trade off with a high UVA protection from 16.4% zinc oxide.

Shiseido also put a new WetForce technology into this sunscreen. This makes the formula works better when it comes in contact with water or sweat. Here in Thailand I sweat at the first 10 seconds I stepped out of an air con room. If this technology does work I think it is really genius.

I haven’t tried the Ultimune concentrate yet. I think it is in a serum consistency. It is meant to be applied after cleansing then follow by serum and moisturizer. The idea behind this is to give the skin a boost of immune system, hence fight against aging. I find it is hard to believe in such a product, but still it’s fun to try.

After six days of using, I’ve been loving the sunscreen. I will report back after a couple of weeks how I still feel about it along with small trail results on the Ultimune concentrate.

Have you tried any Shiseido product?
