Pai Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser ~ Review ~

I’ve heard many good things about hot cloth cleansers from skincare and beauty experts like Caroline Hirons and Sali Hughes. When I saw a promotion on Pai’s website last Christmas, I decided to get the rosehip oil gift set so I could get their Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser to try out and I must say it is by far one of my most favorite cleansers.

This cleanser comes with a muslin cloth. Some people said that it is too rough for their liking, in that case you may want to switch to other more gentle wash cloths.

Packaging:

The packaging is a pump bottle which is super hygienic. At the beginning it was difficult to get the product out Β but after a few uses, the product came out smoothly. The bottle is a bit too bulky to travel with so you might want to purchase their travel set for that purpose. Another downside is that you don’t get to see how much product remains in the bottle. I think you can estimate it. This one lasted me about 4 months because I don’t wear makeup so I only use one pump at a time.

Ingredients:

aqua, camellia sinensis seed oil*, ricinus communis (castor) seed oil*, prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil*, cetearyl alcohol, vegetable glycerine*, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter* , cetearyl glucoside, rosa damascena (rose otto) oil*, pelargonium graveolens (geranium) oil*, lavandula officinalis (lavender) flower oil*, litsea cubeba fruit oil* – may chang oil, mixed tocopherols (natural vitamin e), sodium lauroyl lactylate, sodium anisate, sodium levulinate, lactic acid, glyceryl stearate citrate

*Certified Organic. Soil Association Certified. Suitable for Vegans

Scent:

I love this scent. It is very soothing and calming. Perfect for taking away stress and grimes at the end of a long day πŸ™‚

Consistency:

Creamy white color. It is not super thick but enough for those with drier skin to feel comfortable after use.

Processed with VSCOcam with kk2 preset

How I use it:

After removing the majority of my sunscreen and sweat off with micellar water, I use one pump and massage all over my dry face. Then I wet the muslin cloth with warm water and wring out the water. I cover my face with the warm muslin cloth for a few seconds, then gently use the cloth to wipe off the cleanser in circular motion. I ended the cleansing step with a gentle-alcohol free toner.

Results:

My face feels very clean but not drying. I don’t know about it’s effectiveness in removing eye makeup since I don’t use any.

Final thoughts:

I recommend this as a second cleanse for everyone in a dry and cold climate. In a warmer climate, I definitely want something lighter. The need for using a warm cloth to remove can be cumbersome when traveling. Overall I love to use it at the end of my busy wintry days. I will absolutely be repurchasing if I relocate to such cold climate again πŸ™‚
